At Money Africa Kids (‘We’, ‘Us’ or ‘Our’), we understand how important the privacy of personal information is to our users and we are committed to protecting the privacy of the users of our website and mobile applications, and the confidentiality of any personal information provided to us.

The Money Africa Kids Privacy Policy will help users and their parents understand what data we collect about you, why we collect it, what we do with it, and our privacy controls. This Policy provides information about Money Africa Kids’ privacy practices and generally describes how we treat user information in Money Africa products and services.

This Privacy Policy applies to https://moneyafricakids.com/ and other websites owned and operated by us that are intended for use and including the mobile optimized versions of these sites and our Mobile Device Applications or "Apps" (we refer to these sites and Apps collectively as the “Platforms”).

CONSENT

By accessing or using our services or products, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. Once you provide consent, you may change your mind and withdraw the consent at any time by contacting us at kids@themoneyafrica.com but please note that consent withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent.

Information we collect

When signing up on our Platform, we collect information about you. This information may include:

  1. Profile data, such as your Full name, e-mail address, mailing address, location, age, and phone number;
  2. Financial data, such as your card information, billing address, and payment options may also be required by our payment service providers;
  3. Technical information, such as the type of mobile device and internet browser you use, your computer IP address, data about the pages you access, mobile device ID or unique identifier, statistics on page views, standard Web log data, still and moving images, etc;
  4. Marketing data, such as users’ feedback;
  5. Usage data, such as time spent on our application, when application was opened, device data and learning statistics (time spent learning, lessons viewed, test scores, etc.).
  6. Device type and settings, such as hardware model and operating system version;
  7. Log information, including details of how our service is used, device event information, and the device's Internet protocol (IP) address;
  8. Unique application numbers, such as application version number; and
  9. Unique identifiers, which are used to collect and store information about an app or device, such as preferred language, app activity, and other settings.
  10. User’s online activity and digital footprint on the Application including videos, search terms, and other interactions with content on the app.

How we use Information we collect

We will only use the personal data provided for the purpose for the following:

  1. to register you as a new user;
  2. to process and deliver your order;
  3. to manage your relationship with us;
  4. to recommend products or services which may be of interest to you;
  5. to help us identify and provide the type of service offerings in which you are most interested in;
  6. to enable us create the content most relevant to you and to generally improve Our services;
  7. to make the Platform easier for you to use by not having to enter information more than once;
  8. to manage risk, or to detect, prevent, and/or remediate fraud or other potentially prohibited or illegal activities; and
  9. to send periodic emails and marketing materials regarding your interest in Our products and services.

We use the information we collect for internal operational purposes such as spam and abuse prevention and enforcing our content license restrictions and providing and improving the service.

We also use this information to offer users personalized content. We associate an identifier that's unique to the app with the videos your child has watched and terms they've searched for to recommend content based on their age and likely to be of interest to them, subject to the controls described below.

The app does not allow any type of interest-based advertising or remarketing.

Money Africa Kids does not allow your child to share personal information with third parties or make it publicly available.

We will not disclose any user information provided to us to any third party except in the following circumstances:

We may share individual user information with a third party (companies, organizations or individuals) upon receipt of parental consent.

Legal reasons: We may share individual user information with a third party (companies, organizations or individuals) if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

  • meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
  • enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
  • detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
  • protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Money Africa our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

External Processing: We may provide individual user information to our affiliates or other trusted businesses or persons to process it on our behalf, based on our instructions and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

We may share aggregate information about the use of the app with third parties to, for example, show trends about the use of the app or meet our reporting obligations with partners.

Parental Access and Controls

If you sign into Money Africa Kids, the app will collect your account information, such as email address and password, and, as applicable, will collect profile information for any profiles you create for your child as well as your parental controls and customization preferences.

Your profile information will include your child’s name, their age, and their month of birth if you choose to provide it. The app also collects the child’s app activity data including watch and search history specific to each child.

We will use this information to provide the following features:

  1. If applicable, enabling Money Africa Kids Premium benefits, such as accessibility to all courses and lessons, accessibility to badges and quizzes on all your devices;
  2. Enable you create profiles for your child; and
  3. Enable additional parental controls and customization preferences associated witheach of the profiles in the app on all your devices.

Parents of user’s may:

  1. monitor the videos your child has recently watched in the monitor your kids section of the app
  2. view the in-progress and completed courses your child is watching or taking.
  3. generate a token for their children after creating a profile for your child.
  4. uninstall and reinstall the app on a device to reset the app-specific identifiers.

Third Party Links

Occasionally, we may include or offer third party products or services on our Platform. As such, our Platform may contain links to mobile applications owned and operated by third parties. These third-party mobile applications may have their own separate and independent privacy policies, which may govern the collection and processing of your personal data. We urge you to review these privacy policies – because this Policy will not apply. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content, activities and privacy practices of such third-party mobile applications.

Cookies

Our Platforms use cookies (small files containing a string of characters), which we place on your computer, if you agree. These cookies allow us to uniquely identify your browser and to distinguish you from other users of our Platforms. This enables us to track your preferences and provide you with a personalized and smooth experience when you browse our Platforms. The cookies we use are “analytical” cookies. They allow us to recognize and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the Platforms when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our Platforms works, for example by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily. We do not share the information the cookies collect with any third parties.

User Profiles

Every registered user has a unique personal profile. Each profile is assigned a unique personal identification number, which helps us ensure that only you can access your profile.

When you register, we create your profile, assign a personal identification number, (your User ID) then send this personal identification number back your email address with an activation link for the activation of your profile. This code is uniquely yours. It is your passport to seamless travel across our Platforms, allowing you to use our Platforms without having to fill out registration forms with information you’ve already provided. Even if you switch computers, you won’t have to re-register – just use your User ID to identify yourself.

Retention of Personal Information

We will keep your personal information for as long as it is required and in accordance with the purpose it is being processed for, or for tax, accounting, regulatory, or legal purposes. We will keep the personal data for a period which enables us to handle or respond to any complaints, queries or concerns relating to Our relationship with you. Related to this, We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if We reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to Our relationship with you.

You may notify us whenever you no longer wish to hear from us and We will keep minimum information upon receipt of such Policy to ensure that no future contact is made by us. We will actively review the personal information We hold and delete it securely, or in some cases anonymize it, when there is no longer a legal, business or user need for it to be retained.

Your Legal Rights

You have the right to:

This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information We hold about you and check that we are lawfully processing it. Please note that a data subject access request may attract an administrative fee;
  2. request correction of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected, though We may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us;
  3. request erasure of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal data where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing (see below), where we may have processed your information unlawfully or where we are required to erase your personal data to comply with local law. Note however, that we may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request;

At Money Africa Kids, we implement a variety of reasonable security measures to protect the security and integrity of your personal information.

We store and process your personal information on our server logs in Nigeria. Where We need to transfer your data to another country, such country must have an adequate data protection law.

Please be assured that we have put in place appropriate security measures including but not limited to access controls, firewalls, data encryption, and physical security to prevent your personal data from being lost, altered, disclosed, or otherwise used in an unauthorized way.

In addition, we limit access to your personal data to employees, agents and contractors ona need to know basis. These employees, agents, and contractors have a duty to maintain confidentiality at all times and will only process your personal data according to Our instructions.

Also note that We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where We are legally required to do so.

To prevent unauthorized access to your information, we have implemented strong controls and security safeguards at the technical and operational levels. No liability or responsibility shall lie for risks associated with the use of our Platforms, including but not limited to any risk to your computer, software or data being damaged by any virus, software, or any other file that might be transmitted or activated via our Platforms or your access to it. Neither do we guarantee the reliability of information contained on our Platforms particularly those shared by third party users.
